The primary aim of the IDCA Syllabus is to provide safe, quality training to actors and others in stage combat techniques. Courses are taught in different weapons and can, if required, lead to certification of an individual by the IDCA. Certification is not a requirement when attending any course.
Courses include fulltime day courses, part-time evening courses and weekend workshops Weapon systems - Unarmed
- Rapier and Dagger
- Broadsword
- Sword and Shield
- Quarterstaff
- Knife
- Smallsword
- Sabre
Certificate Requirements - Basic Actor/Combatant Unarmed combat + rapier and dagger
- Intermediate Actor/CombatantTwo weapons not already certified
- Advanced Actor/CombatantCertified in all Weapons with Distinctions in Three Categories
- Assistant Instructor
- Instructor
- Master Teacher
